A great time was had by all at a Children’s Easter party at Widnes Baptist Church on Monday (10th). Seventeen children game along from 4 months to 9 years. There was an egg decorating competition, card marking, make your own gingerbread disciple, sun catcher painting and a fun quiz to complete before the children enjoyed watching a short video of children acting out the Easter Story. At the end of the video, 4 year old Lola Evans started a round of applause before it was time for games and races.
The majority of the children had never been in an egg and spoon race before but 4 year old Beth was a born natural, competing against children twice her age in the final. A jumping race, musical statues and musical bumps followed, with some great dancing on display by Ethan, Harry and Kaya. Afterwards, the children enjoyed some sausage rolls and crisps before tucking into their own ice cream mountains.
Sarah Symons, member of the church: “It was a lovely party, filled with lots of fun and laughter. The children are even more excited about Easter now they know the real message behind it. It was nice to see former members of our Little Stars tots group again and some new faces too. If anyone fancies coming along to our Easter Sunday service, there’s an Easter bonnet parade for the children and we’d love to see new babies and tots join our Monday tots group (9.30am-11am) once it starts up again after the holidays on Monday 24th April.”
